In partnership with EduMais, a local NGO based in the Pavão-Pavãozinho and Cantagalo favelas of Rio de Janeiro, we work to inspire, empower, and support underprivileged students to shape their own futures through education. Our goal is to give young people the confidence, tools, and opportunities they need to pursue higher education and meaningful careers, breaking cycles of inequality.
SIMbora is a new initiative created by students from the SIM22 cohort. It aims to provide students in Rio favelas with equal opportunity, to inspire them to dream big, and to guide them towards reaching these dreams. The objective of our team is primarily to conduct workshops on site in collaboration with Edumais in order to raise awareness about education and career opportunities among young students, and to enable them through the sponsoring of high school exam fees, the purchasing of newer technology, and scholarships.
